This dataset includes monthly information on the foreign exchange balance and the evolution of international reserves. Prepared by the External Sector Statistics Department of the Central Bank of Argentina. The dataset's information corresponds to the report on the evolution of the foreign exchange market and the foreign exchange balance.

The foreign exchange balance encompasses transactions conducted by entities with clients through the Foreign Exchange Market, as well as those directly carried out with the Central Bank's international reserves, recorded in its financial evolution. The data are reported by entities authorized to operate in foreign exchange under Section "A" of the Foreign Exchange Operations Reporting System, established by Communication "A" 3840 and its subsequent amendments. The figures are expressed in millions of U.S. dollars. For the calculation of dollar equivalents, the provisions of Communication "A" 3868 and its amendments were considered.

The information is provisional and subject to revision and correction. Starting in September 2016, the foreign exchange balance accounts were restructured in line with the simplified list of concept codes for the Foreign Exchange Operations Reporting System. This adjustment aims to streamline reporting and align with international standards, as outlined in Communication "A" 6039.

Fund inflows are reported as positive values, while fund outflows are reported as negative values. In net terms, all positive values indicate an inflow of foreign currency, while all negative values indicate an outflow of foreign currency.
